In Home Newborn Session - The Fitzgerald Family
This in-home newborn session was such a treat! Not only are the Ftizgerald’s incredibly talented photographers, but their beautiful home holds so much sentimental value to their family’s story. We spent the day documenting the newest chapter of their story, their baby girl Fiona.
Many memories have been made at the Fitzgerald home. Sitting on the sweetest property in rural Maine, the modern farmhouse homestead is insanely cozy with lots of natural light. A photographer’s dream! Which makes perfect sense because it is, in fact, owned by two photographers. Outdoors enthusiasts Cait and Corey Fitzgerald are both insanely talented photographers with inspiration worthy Instagram feeds. Seriously, do yourself a favor and check out their epic portfolios. And on top of all of that? They made a pretty adorable baby.
It didn’t take long to see how much love has been poured into their home. The warm tones and natural floors are enough to make you want to pack a bag and stay a while. But to the Fitzgeralds, it’s more than just a well decorated house. It was where they said yes to forever surrounded by their loved ones on their wedding day. It was where they started their family. It’s where they will raise Fiona. A place of priceless memories, both from the past and for years to come.
So when two gifted photographers ask you to come to their fantastic home to do an in home newborn session with their beautiful baby girl, you do it! Well first, you do a little happy dance and then you do it. I could not have been more honored to capture these moments of their family.
And to make it even better, they have great style and three very photogenic pups. I can’t get over how much I loved this shoot! The photos speak for themselves. Make sure to scroll through and let me know which is your favorite!
If you are thinking about an in home newborn session to celebrate the arrival of your sweet babe, here’s some tips and tricks to help you get started.
Tips for an in home newborn session:
Consider lighting! Natural light is arguably the most important element for a photographer. Take a look at which rooms offer better lighting and prepare them for the shoot!
Timing! Not only for lighting purposes, but also make sure it works in your baby’s schedule. Although, let's be honest, do newborns really have schedules yet?!
Feeling like your home isn’t worthy of photos? Do you have a white wall near a window?! Honestly that's all you need. The connection between you and your family will be enough to make beautiful photos.
