The Glennan Family | A Cozy Coastal Session in Harpswell, Maine
Some families just feel like instant friends—and the Glennans are definitely one of those families for me. This was my third session with them. The first time we met, it was like we knew each other since we were kids, and now each year its like a little reunion. Getting to see sweet Fiona grow has been such a fun thing! As a photographer, when families welcome me into their lives it is something I will never take for granted.
The Glennans are a sweet family of three from Washington, D.C., and they make a special trip to Maine each year. We first met for a session here in Maine, then they flew me out to D.C. for their second session with me (truly such an honor and a dream come true!). This year they came back to Maine for a session that was cozy, coastal, and full of love.
For this session, they wanted to keep things relaxed and personal, so we photographed at their rental home in Harpswell. The house had such a cool, laid-back vibe—full of character, light, and warmth. We spent time capturing quiet moments indoors: snuggling and just enjoying being together. There’s something so special about documenting everyday life in spaces that feel like home, even if it’s just for a week.
Once we ended the indoor portion, we went outside and it did not disappoint. The house sat close to the edge of the water, with a rocky shoreline stretching out behind it, and the rocks were covered in sea-glass. It was wild and beautiful and felt like we were standing in the middle of a Maine postcard. Their daughter Fiona, full of joy and happiness completely beams from her sweet little soul.
Working with the same families over time, and getting a front seat to watching them grow is something I love dearly—seeing how connections deepen and personalities shine even brighter each year. With the Glennans, it’s such a joy to witness their love and closeness, and I’m so grateful to be invited back again and again to document it.
